RUBEN VAN HEERDEN
Main Producer and Writer
Ruben van Heerden is twenty-one years old. He was born in Johannesburg and moved to the Western Cape when he was three. The reason why he decided to come to AFDA is simple. His biggest passion and love for this world are Fantasy and Sci-Fi stories. It is his dream after AFDA to become the next showrunner for a Fantasy/Sci-Fi series. Ruben believes achieving his goal he must enhance and improve his skills. He decided that there was no better place than coming to AFDA to learn what it is to be part of the industry
JOSHUA PETERSEN
Director and Writer
I was born in 2000 and raised in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. I started writing at a young age, using stories to help escape from the world and all its problems. Movies were escape and happy place, now I hope to make others even just a small bit as happy as what movies made me.
Kodi Woodman
Co-Producer and Writer
A young man born and bred in Cape Town with a passion for story. He is also the producer of his own film named Shalom, Shalom what will also be released at the Labia theatre for his graduation film.
Shepelele Sikhosana
Costume Designer
Sphelele Sikhosana came to AFDA to pursue a career in acting but soon found himself falling in love with costume makeup and styling. Sphelele plan is to follow his dreams of working in the world of fashion where he can express himself and challenge conventional norms in the fashion industry like the greats before him such as Tyler the Creator & Virgil Abloh

Maishe Bopape is 23 year old man born in Johannesburg, South Africa from Midrand. Full of spirit and determination he started growing up with an interest in animation which led him to pursue it in his first year of study. During his study, he picked up a camera to help his friends with the visuals for their music careers which sparked a love for film in him. This inspired him to learn graphic design, editing and combined with his previous knowledge of animation to pursue a dream that showed him AFDA’s VFX and editing program to take his skills to a truly professional level. He hopes after his studies that he could work on bigger projects to learn from the best in the world.

I'm a congolese woman that grew up loving film and television. Originally wanting to study directing, I fell in love with cinematography at AFDA and decided to study that instead. I love learning about cultures and languages in my free time and would love to make film or documentaries on these topics during my career
